Target Group The training course had 9 participants including:
- Mid to senior level faculty members from NIDM
- Mid to senior level faculty members from NIDM’s associated state level Administrative Training Institutions;
- Senior level managers from industrial development corporations responsible for planning and management of industrial parks/estates
- Mid to senior level officers related to climate change and disaster management from central level agencies
Objectives
  • Knowledge support and enrichment on international approaches including concepts, scientific research to practical implementation for dealing with disaster risks particularly associated with climate change.
  • Exposure to practical implementation techniques.
  • Explore future collaboration & networking possibilities between the German and Indian institutions (NIDM etc.) related to disaster risk management.
Expected results/impacts
  • Improved awareness and knowledge on climate change and disaster risks including concepts, tools/methods/approaches, practical implementation techniques etc.
  • The topics trained during the course and related findings will be integrated by the participants into training and capacity building programmes offered in India by NIDM and the State Administrative Training Units.
  • The participants from authorities dealing with industrial development start conceptualizing activities/programmes required for strengthening disaster risk management in industrial areas.
